It's nonsense! It needs to reward people for buying and holding, not trading 20 times a day.

I think it sends all the wrong messages.

Over the next few weeks, teachers across the country will be registering high school students to take part in the ASX Sharemarket Game, which lets players ‘experience what it is like to invest in the stock market’. I’d disagree with that. If investing were anything at all like this game, there wouldn’t be a stockmarket in the first place. Each year over 70,000 students participate. For the vast majority it’s their first introduction to investing, which is a great shame. If you wanted to design something that taught young minds the essence of poor investing, the ASX game would be a great starting point.

Scratch that - TPG has tanked it today since the rankings were done so I'm now below $50k again.

The Sharemarket is a fickle master!

I don't have a trader mindset. I would rather buy and hold quality shares.

I think WTF is a little too speculative for my portfolio.

I got my Telstra dividends. $372. Today the value of the shares is down by $383.08. Net loss. I am really good at losing money in this game!

    My portfolio value is $47,481.92
    Overall rank 6610

Not enjoying the game, but it has definitely made it sink in that I don't enjoy trying to trade.
That I would much prefer to buy quality stocks if/when they're down.
As the game is short and trying to win found myself making good decisions first days or so then made risky moves trying to get quick win.
Buy and hold strong companies long term.

It definitely confirms for me that I have the buy and hold mindset.
I do not have the trader mindset.

I have given up trying to trade. I just have no interest in it. I have just picked some hopefully good stocks and holding. I am still in the red from bad trades but back up to $48,156.11 from a low of $47,016.67. My overall ranking is 10,172/11,347. lol. Serves me right for trying to beat the market! :)

The stocks on the move, I should of said. I kept selling, taking the profits then buy the stocks on the move again, repeat. To time consuming. Gave up.
