Well that was disappointment. I had my first preference buy list and my backup buy list. Out of 10 shares on my lists only one was available to buy :(

Now I have to come up with a new strategy.

Wow I only just looked at the available share list - didn't realise it was just a small bunch (relatively).

Seems ridiculously small. Are there 200?

This is wrong. I am struggling with the psychology of trading. I have picked good companies, with solid track records and good dividends payments. These shares have increased in price. Now I am supposed to sell down and reinvest. What I am struggling with is that I have picked good companies that are performing well. Why would I go and sell them? I doubt I am cut out to be a trader. My psychology is buy and hold.

Haha I took on this approach with todays opens picked reasonable companies that have dropped a fair amount.

    BKL - Blackmore
    FLT- Flight Centre
    RHC - Ramsey Health Care
    SKT - Sky Network Television
    SRX - Sirtex Medical

So far all are up a little, total around $650

    No idea what I'm doing.

BKL is down -2.392% today. Grr. But I reckon it would make a great long term hold.

My question with the profit is when to sell? My CPU was up $160 but now down to $44 up. At what point do I take the profit.

I should have put a Falling sell (stop loss) on it.

How does a trailing stop loss work? I could have made $260 on CPU if I knew how to use it.

Don't know yet. I'm googling. I only just learnt lic's and no stop losses required as you don't sell. This gambling game is tricky.

I agree. I don't like it. It hurts to sell a good share. I am just mucking around to learn the game. Then back to boring old buy and hold :)

I doubt I will last 15 weeks of this.

    No idea - I don't know what I'm doing.

I've put in sale prices for what I'm happy to sell.

Pretty much I've done a watch list of what I consider to be decent companies (not much research has gone into that)

Just selecting prices to buy and sell them at based on recent charts.

What's your thoughts on the game for schools - what's the intent and what does it teach?

FWIW I think it sends the wrong message, though I still believe it's worth educating them about the 'market' as a whole
