Hi, in calculating the value of the "asset pool" value of property, if a property has a value of $1,000,000 and has a mortgage of $900,000, with $100,000 cash in redraw and $100,000 cash in offset, what is the net value? Does it matter if the money is in redraw or offset to calculate net value?

    Is the asset $1,000,000 property
    $100,000 cash offset
    Total assets $1,100,000

Total debts $800,000 (mortgage less offset)

    Total net value $300,000?

Redraw value is zero as you increase your debt, net assets are $1,000,000+$100,000-$800,000=$200,000

For family law, $50,000 split between the couple & $150,000 for the lawyers.

    What is the loan?

If you mean a $900,000 loan then the net value of the property is $100,000.

You as the owner might have a net value of $200,000.
