I'm starting to have the same problem after ordering two more very large commissions ... and finally getting around to hanging up some of my other original artworks - I'm sure I'll find the space
    :)

Something daughter "whipped" up the other night ... purely from what was in her makeup case ... powder, eyeshadow and lipstick only. So much talent - just have to work on the confidence in herself

That's it. Once I hang the large one, no more. Space is essentially non-existent as is my photographic ability.

First rule of art buying : don’t stop buying simply because you have run out of wall space.

Where do people go to sell artwork?

I have an etching by this artist....
    Alexandra Nechita | artnet

And no idea where to sell it or how to sell it.
I don't think gumtree is going to work.

The owner of the Facebook "Art Antique Valuations" is based in Katoomba, and knows his art and antiques backwards, forwards and sideways. You can join, post up good clear photos, provide as much detail as you have, and the members there will suggest value. Steven himself will likely also answer, but give it some time as he travels a lot.

Do not mention eBay or someone's head might explode.

You could say you want to sell and may be contacted with offers, but obviously you want to know value first, which Steven can do.

Read the pinned post first, as he offers value in various ways, auction estimate, private sale or insurance value.

Once you have a value, I'd try eBay, Gumtree but wouldn't hold my breath. Art is very much discretionary spending, and in my opinion is not easy to sell unless you almost give it away.

I started this chap nearly two years ago, and then life got "interesting" and with so much else going on, I put him away. Finished him a few weeks ago at the start of the self-isolation. I'm going to start another one this week, but probably glass this time, because I'm finding that I'm sitting on the couch just a little too much.

I'd be interested in what others are doing whilst stuck at home? Any other artists out there with something to show off and keep us entertained?

So I've spent 47 hours of my lockdown, spread over two weeks, adding glass to this mannequin. I washed the glass the day before as it was very dusty and some came from windows and still had putty edges.

I didn't count the washing and prep work, or the probably ten hours spent puttying and cleaning up after putty. No wonder hobby artists (like me) just cannot make anything from the hours put in. Luckily, we enjoy looking at these, because we've got a few around the house now. :D

Florentine glass is full of crevices and I wanted to leave some grout sitting proud to highlight the pattern, so it was so much slower to grout that a flat glass one. And I might remove some of the grout sitting in the Florentine after I've lived with it a few more days.

I need to do some final touch ups and fill some grout that was lost in the cleaning, but I need to let my fingers heal for a few days first. Little cuts to the fingers and hours of grouting take a toll on my hands.

@rld I like that. It looks like it would be easy, but I know it isn't always the case. I once tried to paint something that I thought "that looks easy" and it was not easy at all.

If this is your first large canvas, have you done others. With lockdown, we need something to occupy us, something to look at. :)

Haha as long as you have a steady hand it's not too bad.

I have done smaller ones, thats it, have to pass the time somehow.

Drilled the last hole and punched in the last rivet tonight on the new metal man. This has taken me weeks, but mostly because I don't spend hours on it every day. I'd thought about selling this guy but I think I need to keep him. I had two of these bases and did one in glass. That was so hard due to the shape that I put off this one for years. Metal was easier.

I've added before and during photos for anyone interested in the process.
