By the way MTR, @Steven Ryan doesn't only post positive thinking and wellbeing stuff. He actual LIVES it. It's easy to say things on a forum but live a life completely in a different way. Well, I can tell you he is exactly like that in person and it's so inspiring and motivating to have that energy. Anyone who meets him cannot help but absorb just a bit of that. If you meet him and take away 1% of his positivity, you will walk away a more positive person. I know because I did and I walked away with a better outlook on life. Thanks Steven.

Happy with myself doing things that I don't normally do - dealing with putty, no more gaps, vertigo and poor old feet on crappy ladder rungs. Spent the whole day working on the ceiling slowly moving each heavy part until I could reach up and look up at the same time saying, "You can do it, you can do it.' Always works.
    Feeling happy.

I believe I'm a positive and generally happy person - and very aware that it's my choice to be happy.

Only problem in my life (asides from just putting in 2 x 14hr and 1 x 12hr work days) is that I am a night owl and hubby has to get up for work at 5am ... was so much better rested when the alarm went off at 7am

This year has been particularly trying as several projects have taken off and we simply didn't have time to "stop and smell the roses" as we frantically raced around trying to catch up with what needs to be done ... but that will pass after Christmas - hopefully

I have had some great experiences over my lifetime and sometimes I remember how great it was to do those things. As I mentioned before, I also very much enjoy planning some future activity or event. I'm not sure these things exactly equate to "living in the past" or "living in the future". To some extent I think I would be a lot less happy if I rejected the past and refused to think about the future. I embrace my past and welcome my future and live in the now.

I guess it is a simplification of don't stew about your past so much that you can't enjoy now and don't worry so much about your future that it makes you unhappy.

Never been happier - having a nice girlfriend, surrounding yourself with friends & colleagues who are all on the same page wealth-wise, doing what you're good at, being looked up to by your peers, making competitors nervous are all ingredients for a happy life in my book.

are you really making competitors nervous? - must be doing really well then, I had the impression that you just started but could be wrong.

Me- I'm not big enough to make anyone nervous, I;m just happy doing my own thing. One of my competitors in Norwood is 10 times bigger, I am greatful because he is a good mentor and provides a vision for me of what can be achieved.

Why do you have to make competitors nervous, Deets? I don't think the myriad of mortgage brokers on this forum make each other nervous. On the contrary, they are pretty chilled with each other. I think there's a space to co-exist and learn from one another and yet strive to lift one's game.

This is really good thread that I just needed this to remind me how lucky hubby and I are and how good our life generally is. Thanks MTR :)

Generally I am really happy person. Life is really good in all fronts, Even now when I have the worse flu ever, every joint aches and no-one in the household can sleep due to sneezing and coughing. Even cats moved out from the bedroom during the night  But the situation could have been much worse, I could have got this around Xmas time when we have a house full of people and visitors from overseas. Better now than then.

Not referring to forums BG; there's no competitors as all the PMs here have different target markets and / or geographical areas. Besides, we're all of the abundance mindset from what I've seen. I'm referring to my goal of consistently being better and different than industry standard :)

@Tillie glad you always see the positive:)

I wasn't feeling very happy recently... I have always been a happy focused person, but when uni finished the light at the end of the tunnel was overrated! I was really lucky that I could work full time hours in my casual job, but since July I have been busy being rejected from jobs in my area of interest.. Not too many thankfully, but that is mostly due to the lack of jobs to apply for! Anyways, my current workplace is very uptight and negative, which is really unpleasant!

Thankfully I started a new casual role this week which I am loving so far! It is fun, laid back and going to be a great opportunity to gain lots of experience in a diverse range of areas (within my field of interest)! It means I cannot borrow money for a while though =/ It is worth it though! =)

I would say I'm happy about 10-15% of the time.

I'm content maybe 40% of the time.

    Grumpy 10-15% of the time.

    And asleep for the rest.

    That's what I reckon.

I did like the line on the show Vikings, when the dad said to his son something along the lines of: "Happy? Who told you that life is meant to be happy?"

I don't even really agree with the groups that say forget happiness, we're all about trying to be content.

Like Tim Minchin said: "Content homo erectus died and didn't pass on his genes".

Emotions are like a buffet. Sometimes you've got to eat the bitter veggies. And sometimes you get the chocolate coated strawberries.
