I think it is something that has to be worked on constantly. It's mindset. Material items cannot make you happy - long term.

It is a choice to he happy, a conscious decision that requires discipline in my opinion.
It's easy to get caught up the the day to day, work work work.
For instance, every night as I'm trying to get to sleep I have a habit I have formed of going through all the things in my life I'm greatful for. Family, friends, health, opportunities, etc. That keeps me grounded and it is the last thing I think before I goto sleep.

Also prevents a lot of the anxiety of wanting more - IP's, wealth, bigger TV etc. Be happy now. Choose to be happy now.
If you don't take control of your thoughts the world wil!

There are always those unhappy moments, but when I look at my life overall and ask if I'm unhappy, the answer is no. Can I do better? Yes. Am I happy? Kinda yes ;)

Always happy always content. Anything crappy comes my way I know there is always a way to work around it.

In saying that though the other half will probably tell you I'm a negative person. I will never do anything in my life without going over all the negatives that could come along the way, where as when she does things in her mind everything is going to be perfect and everything is going to go smoothly.

After much hacking of my wellbeing, I am always somewhere between happy and blissful.

It gives me great satisfaction knowing my future is in my own hands, I'm healthy, have great meaningful relationships, am able to learn anything I want to and am comfortable financially.

    Yes I am.
I have a lot of wobbles, am very sensitive, don't cope with failure, but outside of these periods, yes. And ever improving.

This morning on the way to work I drove into the back of a car, at some lights, whilst not really paying attention.

The driver got out and he was a dwarf.

    He said, "I'm not happy."

I said, "So which one are you then?"

In early November, I switched jobs to one that is much closer to home, my commute has gone from 3.25 hours to 1.25. The extra time with my wife and 2 children is precious beyond words. But I need to make sure I don't just squander this extra time.

The old job was in a toxic management environment, now I'm treated with respect and look forward to going to work.

My IPs seem to be going OK.

    Life is very good.

So I hope you're not going to challenge the fine on the grounds the suburb name was spelt incorrectly?

Not if you're stuck next to a 'large' person on public transport on a hot day.
    Go to your happy place...
