Are there any other opinions except Domain and real estate.com?

Recently I heard one of my friends’s friends bought a house at low price. Lower than market price. I heard he did not buy property through domain or real estate.com website. But he did not say where he actually bought from.
I am wondering where could ppl buy property from except Domain and real estate.com website? Any idea?

Gumtree, local paper, poster on telegraph poles, off-market.

PS. There is No "Buy Now" or "Shopping cart" buttons on domain or re.com websites.

Basically just realestate.com.au in SA and Allhomes in ACT. The others don't get much traffic.

Domain mostly has popularity in Sydney only.

The only genuine reasons I can think of that a vendor would sell for lower than market price is if they knew or were somehow related to the buyer. Either that or they are elderly and were duped into selling for that price.

Forced sale, employment transfer, divorce and funds needed urgently are the obvious ones that come to mind.

Probably 25% of what I buy is off market deals from agents that never make it to the internet.

Your friend may have been talking to the right agent at the right time and found something before it went on the market. This only happens when you're out there on the streets. It doesn't happen online.

Funnily enough I bought a house off a divorcing couple on Wednesday.

At Auction, but $20k under reserve because they were desperate to offload it.

Wouldn't it be easier just to ask your friend?

Most likely through a real estate friend who have some off-market stuff or buyer's agent? He may have even done his own research, but unless you ask you never know.

buyMyplace: Sell My House | Sell your own home is another site where people are listing their places if I'm not mistaken where sellers save a fair bit on agency fees and may pass it onto the buyer.

Perhaps some consideration is in order before asking, just in case...

Maybe your friend made him an offer he couldn't refuse, vis a vis
