Are Tax Liens a Thing? Or is there an Australian equivalent? If not, why does Australia not have tax leins? Do we not pay tax like Americans do?

Is there an Australian equivalent? Why not? Do we not pay property tax the same way as Americans?

How does it work in America?

A council takes a charge over property for unpaid rates and sells that charge to someone who then forcloses on the property?

In Australia if there was unpaid rates the council could eventually sell the property and recover the money. There is no lien that can be traded.

Does any body want too buy a copy of the 16% solution? :(
Better yet, has anyone actually had any experience in investing in tax liens in America from Australia. I cant only start to imagine all the complications that may arise in doing so. I still think it would be nice to hear if anyone has?
