What questions would you ask when selecting an architect for a development project? I am some ideas of course but looking for what others do to get the best. MTR
Are you a registered architect? or a drafter.... Do you have a "team" of preferred support consultants you work with? What is the first step in the project? - this last question should provide a little insight as to whether or not they know what the are doing - real speak or waffle.....
I always recommend people look at some of their past projects and talk to past clients. If an architect won't share that stuff, move on.
Team, good one. If they don't have this right this can be frustrating and waste time, inefficient as well
Don't reinvent the wheel, find out what works in the specific area/suburb and copy it. Has worked for me. I never go cheap on the specs, what was considered how spec years ago is now the norm.. ie stone benchtops, high ceilings, overhead cupboards in kitchens. If you go cheap and tacky I believe you are cutting your nose despite your face. But as I mentioned it also requires research on what is selling in a specific area/suburb.
