I manage the investments, taxes, loans and future finance planning etc.
Where and what to buy depends on which country we are talking about.
The Russian investments is all her.
The Australian investments is all me.
The rest of the world is combined, though I do more background research.

She manages the day to day bills and lifestyle costs - I ensure there is always a few $k on the cards so she never runs out - though she may not know exactly where it came from. I know how much she spends and where - but as long as I don't tell her how much she spent, or ask her what she bought we are mostly a peaceful household.

In fairness to him, he just delegates the e-mailing to me as he loathes doing it lol. It's just that the correspondence aspect is pretty much a major component of the work.:)

Everything else we share the workload.

Normal holidays/weekends away come under my wife's responsibility as it fits in the one year horizon with some suggestion from me if I have enough FF points for travel.

September 2017 we are planning a major 5 week holiday for our 40th anniversary so that will involve us both

Marry a very understanding lady (in the last 38 years we have lived in 12 places in the UK and Australia, all chasing my jobs)

Have a few (5) years to establish yourselves before you have children.

Don't argue about money. Particularly don't take on more debt than you can handle. (not so easy for someone just setting off now)

I do everything and inform husband of where he needs to be, and what he needs to be doing. So this evening for example I sent him off to one property to change a couple of light fittings, and then he met new tenants to organise paperwork and hand over the keys at another property. He is pretty amenable to taking instructions, luckily :D

Sounds like my wife during tax/admin sorting time. She tells me where to sit on the floor, what to sort, how to sort it and tell her when each category is done so she can give me the next task.

And god help me if she finds I put even 1 paper in the wrong pile.....

At least you understand what need to be sorted and the categories. I do all that, plus the calculation, contacting the accountant, getting the return summary, checking if the summary is correct, explain to him why it is correct

When he hasn't got his tax lodgement summary, he asked me where it is and to find out where his lodgement is o_O told him to log in to eTax and got "but they should send it to us. I don't remember the login".

Yep, me too. He knows to give me space when I get all the receipts out for sorting and data entry....and to make me lots of coffee. :D
