    Is it because its cheap?

How much are you spending on your kitchen?
Are you or your wife going to get annoyed later if the appliances end up crap.

I've never used ARC before so i can't comment on their quality.
I stick with stuff i know that simply works.

The reason i looked at them was because

1: They fell well under budget
2: The seemed to be the most purchased items (near too my budget)
3: I really liked the look of them - especially the gasptop

Currently we have a gastop and an oven, both of which are 20-30 years old im sure (see attached - excuse the mess but im busy removing slate floors :) ). The oven doesnt work - pretty much anything better than what we currently have we will be happy with

Where are these reviews? From the same site that sells them?

Can't comment on ARC brand of appliances however I have used Appliances Online in the past for air con, fridge and small household items and never had a problem. This includes setup and removal of the old appliance.

Then how do you explain the bad reviews? I was looking at a Chef gastop, which i assume is a know brand, but didnt have good reviews and customers were unhappy

@robbie_p I look at reviews through various sites. Eg. Product Review / whirlpool
I tend to ignore reviews on sites that sell the items.

If a product manufacturer as a whole does not have enough reviews (good or bad) i tend to avoid it, unless I've actually used it before and am happy with it.

Ultimately its up to you what you choose. On gas stoves i look for cast iron trivets and high mj outputs.

I actually called Appliances online and chatted to one of the ladies there who advise me that she has been very impressed at Arc products and has them in her house.

Not once did she try push me to buy the more expensive "known brands" even after i told her i was prepared to.

The problem with appliances these days is that they all suck.
Even some brands that are perceived as better make crappy items.

I bought a bosh washing machine thinking Bosch is a good brand and that quality should carry through... nope it died after 3.5 years. I also had a Whirlpool one that I sold for cheap to a friend after 5 years of use. He used it for a 1.5 years and then onsold that.

I just stick with Westinghouse most the time. Their aftersales support has been decent enough for me.

At least it has words on the damn oven. Better than those euro style models where i can't figure what bloody setting to put it on cos the picture makes no sense to me.
