And this is what I'm always bleeting on about! There's plenty of young ones doing it! They have better resources than us oldies did with the internet available to them, but they are a minority.

Truth be told, it is the parents fault for indulging some of them so much. They get everything they want including free/discounted board while at home, and they think the world owes them a living. They feel they should be able to have it all, and it's just not fair that they can't.

James, I would assume that you have been to a few Asian dominated suburB's. Chinese are not to blame, people who fighting with Chinese people are to be blamed.

    Racism is a social cancer.

When I hear people complaining I'm often reminded of this audio.

The author I'm led to believe has somewhat of a shady past. However the message still rings loud and clear.

Agree I see my colleagues throwing away their high incomes day in day out. I have tried talking to them about saving some of their cash and maybe moving out of their high end rentals to save for a deposit in a less desirable suburb but it falls on deaf ears. They live pay week to pay week while spending almost $30 a day on eating breakfast and lunch out and multiple coffees. They laugh (good heartily) at my packed lunch, I laugh on the way home to my million plus PPOR which which I will own outright in a few years.

I had my cake and ate it too! I bought so we had a place to get drunk and then somewhere to crash after. so its doable, old mate stanley helps to keep costs down;) nah you dont need to go that far.
its just all to hard for them, a house is a big bunch of money and long term debt, let alone having no idea of the investing side of things. education is the key!

you need to learn to count cards before you go to the casino, thats the "investment strategy" they dont tell you!

John Alexander the ex mediocre tennis player is now jumping on the housing bubble bandwagon. He obviously didn't invest any of his winnings from tennis into real estate.

He must not be one of the many liberal MP's with investment properties. He will have to be pulled into line by the party. I wonder if he genuinely feels for the people that can't afford a property or if he is just after votes.

Many examples of affordable properties have been given in this thread I believe. Oh but many of the FHB's would like to buy in trendy areas such as Newtown, Coogee or Bondi.

When there is a property downturn these guys will have to grab headlines some other way.

    Yep.

I see a bloke walk from his house around the corner from our workshop, past our workshop - TWICE per day - on the way to one of the cafes just near us.

He reappears some minutes later, holding a tray with 3 coffees in it - I'd wager $15 worth. He then returns home. So, that's $30 per day on take-away coffees.

Call it $20 per day (I don't see him Sat or Sun) - $100 per week minimum, just on coffees.

He is always wearing either the fluoro unifom of some type ofcouncil worker, or truck/delivery driver, or some type of construction worker, etc, or the attire of choice of yer scuzzy bogan...trackies and blues singlets etc, and/or a Bombers beenie and footy jumper with the trackies.

I have seen his house, and it's in a "war torn" section of our little swamp..not quite "car-wreck front yard" status, but not far off...older Commodore ute bomb, and so on.

Not degrading those workers at all; just trying to illustrate his likely position....Aussie battler.

I hope I have painted the picture clearly enough?

Now; I could be enormously wrong (he might be richer than Donald Trump and simply chooses to live in a scuzz part of the Universe rather than luxury and class), but right there is a bloke who is totally upside down with his financial habits.

And I'd wager he grumbles with contempt at the "rich c#nts" he comes into contact with.

It's probably not that far off. Those "Hype this location" threads in their hands could be pretty bad publicity and be used as support for something like trying to remove NG.
