@Bayview that's all good, I'll need to look into it. The Mrs worked nightshift last night too so I know not to poke the bear and ask questions! Haha actually as she was going in she thought she had 8 patients on the ward and 4 nurses.... They cancelled one nurse and then 2 called in sick, plus there was 11 patients! Lol

I'll need to do some googling. I've joined St John's ambo's so I'll get some training and experience which will count towards it I hope. Outside Perth city they run on volunteers, so I'll basically be a volunteer paramedic! First shift as driver/observer was a priority 1 transfer! Lucky I'm a hoon! :D

So; was that 1 Nurse to 11 patients?

This is contravening the ratios - I am surprised they didn't get an agency Nurse or two to come in.

The EN's are now referred to as Div 2 Nurses - do most of the "heavy lifting" work with patients such as bathing, dressing and so forth.

They and the PSA sometimes overlap in their roles.

That union ratio malarkey talk is just in Victoria I think :p they sorted it out. Muppets!
Can't just call and get agency here, we're not in the big smoke! When it gets full they go on bypass and ambo's drive down to Perth.
We've double checked all our private health cover since coming to WA!! They build nice flash new hospitals but don't think to put some cash aside for staffing!

If you were in Melbourne, I'd try to hire you to be my yoga instructor.

Lots of demand for private instructors here (that I can see) - very exxie. I hired someone affordable once (private lessons - works out about the same cost as studio lessons for a couple) but she became flakey once she started getting better offers. Can't blame her though.

Thanks could look at that but for me yoga isn't about making money. I've run free yoga groups before. Many that came i know really appreciated that it was free.

I screw the caps on tubes of toothpaste. Gets kinda boring after 20 minutes. That's when I dream of tightening the lids on jars of marmalade and dipping my pinkie for a quick taste.
