    I tried everything. And then this eventually solved it FOR GOOD.

    Installed these near the ingress points and whaaalaaa, no more trouble from the wretched creatures

    I found that trapping them in the council trap helps.
    We don't get a chance to check it till the following afternoon, so the possum pee's and s#its pheromones to warn others to stay away (we let them back out at home even).
    You just have to ensure to move the trap around (after a good clean)
    We only catch 2 a year now (compared to 20 in year 1 ).
    We find it as preventative as blocking holes and wrapping trees
