How do you know what areas this is for? Just last week i had an issue and ran a new phone line through the house with the telstra tech. This turned off and on the modem. did not see any speed improvement

It is for cable not ADSL.

I was already on 100 Mbps but upload speed went from 2 to 5 which is great as it was rather slow.

I have another 14 months to move to the NBN and will be 100/40.

I'm on Tesltra cable at home. It's significantly faster than ADSL. I can't comment on NBN however.

More speed? Thanks for the tip!

I also have Telstra Cable - will try it tonight when I get home.

I can't get ADSL at all in my area. And I dread the NBN coming.

I'm on HFC cable, getting around 115 down and 5mbps up. They have asked me to move to 'NBN' which will reduce my download speed but increase the up speed. My speeds are decent, so no immediate need to change. When they really are going to cut off the HFC, I'll start receiving more and more letters, and when it is the very end of HFC it will be be crunch time to negotiate a faster and better deal than present. Just play the game or move to Aussie Broadband if they don't cut it.
