We got an email from hubby's brother today apologising for forgetting our wedding anniversary last week. Huh? Oh crap, it was our 16th anniversary last week and we both forgot. Our anniversary was my last day at work, long awaited, and I had a few hurdles to get over during the week until I could finish work at lunch time and drive down to Melbourne. Partner was working around the clock in Melbourne finishing a big reno.

In our defence we had a few things going on, buying and selling houses. But this is at least the second year in a row we've forgotten it. We've decided not to let family know we forgot our wedding anniversary again. They already think we're bonkers with all this property stuff and moving around, different countries etc when everyone else is just doing what they've been doing for their whole lives.

I forget my anniversary. My birthday, I forget to eat, I even once went out with no shoes on.

Maybe just a sign of a busy mind, rather than anything else...

Facebook reminded me last week it was my wedding anniversary - perhaps I should put it in my calendar :p

We have two weddings anniversaries 11 days apart. So after 29 years we've had 58 anniversaries.

So does my wife ever remind me about the 57 I remembered?

Yes, We usually celebrate the day we got together and at one time he needed to remind me o_O
Hubby: "so shall we go for dinner to celebrate?"
    Me: "For what?"
    Hubby: "... You don't remember?"

We both tend to forget our wedding anniversary though - it's not personally as significant

    Hahaha yep that's us

That said, we got married on 11 November..... to help us remember. It works most of the time. (and no, we didn't get married at 11am... it was 4pm)

Great to hear, but I don't think our families would see it like that, more evidence of our 'whacky' behaviour.

I havent forgotten it yet. But to be fair... I havent been married a year yet.

I guarantee I will forget it at some point. Im liable to forget my own birthday. I dont know when anyone elses birthday is, and would forget it even if I did.

I dont do it on purpose - dates just dont mean much to me. I rarely actually know what day of the week it is, let alone the date.

Vive la difference! We're both like that, so no one gets upset...but anniversaries/traditions etc are a big thing for our family members and they'd definitely think this is totally off the wall. That's why it's our secret. ;)

We've also previously forgotten to catch a flight (lol), there's always something to forget if you're juggling too many balls and have a propensity for absent mindedness.

My fear! I often dream about forgetting the flight the day before and the morning of the flight  and also had many dreams about forgetting my shoes and other clothing items ... thank goodness it haven't happened in real life

I was going to post this on the most embarrassing moment thread. A good lesson when life is too busy and you (both) get too complacent. We thought we'd better check the time of tomorrow's flight and guess what? Flight was 2 hours ago :( Was a long time ago, and we never did it again.

I forget my anniversary every year, the date, not the month, September

we have 2, the day we met and the day we married both in September

We got together on the 15th June, he proposed on the 15th June, and guess what... We got married in the 15th June. Nice and tidy.

Been together 14 years and have never forgotten yet as we usually use it as an excuse to get away for a few days. Life has gotten in the way the past couple of years but we still try to do something special.

We purposefully got married on Australia Day ... so we wouldn't forget the date, and because we get the day off every year ... also happened to fall the required 4 weeks after advising the registry
