I still read on and off as usual - however I miss the social aspect in the meetups! Anyone else miss the face to face?

I've been frequenting the forum a lot more since working from home.. It's been very interesting times economically, which has drawn me back to PC

For someone that's been practicing social distancing for 40 years, less face to face has been another silver lining of this covid-19 thing :D
Although staying at home has forced me to meet a lot more of my neighbours which has been nice.

Yep, I am one of them, being in pension phase. What a bugger!!!
Never think like that. One should always do the right thing and aim to get ahead, in good times and bad.
It still is. It has been a great place to be in the current situation.
I am getting them on a daily basis, with people PM’ing me.

I don’t have enough spare hours in a day to respond to them in a timely basis.
    I am still here :p.

I know @kierank. You are all warms and fuzzies.

The truly wealthy contributors here are the humblest and kindest people i have ever met in my life. it is a privilege to be respected and treated as their equal. Some of us are putting on a brave face but I suspect we are all probably a bit testy at the moment.

I just checked - I banned 17 new members in the past 6 weeks for trolling. In some cases, that was the same person banned multiple times.

But you only mentioned ONE poster.
Invented crisis? Not when you look at things happening overseas. We're just lucky that we've got it under control. I'd love nothing better than to get back to where we were a few months ago, but that's not going to happen mainly due to a small number that don't do the right thing. Means we all have to suffer.

This....but it can distort a thread when you can't see something that was posted.

And there ARE opportunities. Just mad I'm out of cash for them at present. :(

The forums reflect what is happening in the real world and unfortunately, there was a lot of negativity in the past two months due to the Virus so it's kind of natural to have some negativity floating around.

As for people pointing out how bad things are or how great the bounce will be or whatever, that is their opinion, it's up to you to take it or leave it.
I find some of these posts to be pretty genuine and well researched. Don't agree on a many things but that's one of the reasons of being on the forum, to get other points of views and compare them to mine and take it from there.

And to call this an Invented crisis is a bit of a stretch. Just look around you and don't watch the MSM, instead read data reports from medical organisations and follow credible sources.

I'm still very new here but I have definitely been using PC a lot more during these times as everyone is a lot more sane and calm rather than some of the crazy headlines out there.

It is also very comforting reading about the success no matter how minor or major that a lot of you have had over your time investing. At times I find it difficult to convince myself to keep going as it isn't like you see a material improvements each day or week especially only on in my investing journey

I found the recent bunch of trolls not as switched on as previous ones.

Its difficult to have a high level of technical knowledge without the intrinsic passion or interest in real estate investing.

No problems talking down the market or being cheeky - its more the classic trolling - those inspired by a downturn to come and cause a stir that are a pain

    Yes.
I found it reasonably easy to tell who was the same due to the identical vocabulary and style of speech. The posters used a similar Modus Operandi a few years back when the political parties were considering Negative Gearing and CGT changes.
