Admittedly I learnt a LOT of Chinese via watching Karoke videos.

Funny story actually....it started at uni when I had the hots for this girl from Hong Kong, so I learnt some basic Chinese (writing) watching some VCDs (karaoke ones) at the time and it just took off from there. 6-7 months down the track, I was able to write enough Chinese to write her something corny but I discovered whilst she can speak Chinese (Cantonese), she went to an International school in Hong Kong where the instruction was in English, she can barely read Chinese.

At university, it was the first time I also hung out with a lot of overseas Chinese and Hong Kong pop culture was still high at the time (early 2000s). It pretty much snow balled form there interest wise. I think today, I can read about 70-80% of a Chinese article and understand about 50-60% LOL

Interesting version of the Lemon Tree song. He reminds of Jason Mraz " I'm yours" with this song.

Jessie J wins 2018 Chinese Singer show. First western singer to be invited on the show to compete. Her performances were amazing. One of them below.
