Hi All, I have lately been seeing video series by Todd Hunter to buy properties in US rather than Australia. Reasons he shares are :
    1. Great rental yields in US
    2. Uber cheap prices close to 80k USD
    3. Potential for capital growth better than Australia.

Above points make this look a very good deal, may be so good to be true. Has anyone invested in US via them. Would you recommend investing in US and via wheregroup?
    Appreciate any inputs here, thanks!

US market is where it is happening, no doubt about that, if you want growth and cash flow, but you must do some serious homework and there must evidence to back up claims and that little chest nut..... a track record of success in this market.

Would not use this company, some serious red flags.

Always surprises me that there are so many gullible people who are happy to jump in and they don't even have an address of the property.

Imagine buying real estate from a BA in Australia without an address, would you do it??? o_O

Hey @MTR thanks for taking time to reply. Your insights are always good nd I know you are heavily invested in US ;-)

For the company, google shows office in Cronulla. Also find some good things about Todd at
    WhereGroup?

Hence this thread. I cant by myself in US so need some handholding. Really not sure abt where to buy in Australia my next ip with falling rental yields and uncertain growth.

    Cheers!

Regardless how successful in Oz we are tslking different market

The thing is he is new to US market, going into one of the toughest markets

I would want to know someone has an excellent track record of xx years the product and team with experience and evidence to support this.
You also need volume I would say at least 4/5 to mitigate risk

From what I have read This group not even disclosing address of properties, their fees are outrageous. how can you do DD, clients are buying blind folded, makes no sense.

    Thanks again @MTR
Sorry for my naive question, but by volume you mean as a buyer I need to buy atleast 4/5 to mitigate risk or as a buyers agent, one should be buying in a group of 4 to 5 properties...

Also, do you know of any successful Buyers agent who can help me in this and also can manage the property in US. Thanks!

They charge $14k approx to source a us property for you I think. Wouldn't touch them but each to their own.

Thanks @ellejay , thats what most of the BAs charge here as well in between 12k-15k$.
But is cost the reason you wont touch them or have other horror stories? Any personal recommendation of BA to buy in USA.

I've used BA's here with great results and never paid $12-15k and definitely not for a house in the $100k range (which is the price point you'd be looking at for optimal yield). I must be doing it wrong :p I don't know any horror stories about them but the point of investing is to make money and avoid losing it? Reach out to some of the guys on here or there are many turnkey companies in the US.
