Nothing at all for 2 or 3 months, naturally, then today had 5 inquiries within an hour. Two have turned into bookings. Surprised about this given that we are in Victoria with no overnight stays allowed. Anyone else experienced this?

A Brisbane friend is trying to book a holiday in NSW close to QLD border since recreational travel is allowed in NSW after June 1st but most of Airbnb listings are now all booked out for weeks or prices have massively gone up.

I am sure NSW tourism operators won't mind one way tourism dollars from QLD at all.

I'd be guessing that a lot of Airbnb properties will have been taken off the market and converted to standard rentals.

I have friends who have a property close to the NSW ski fields. They're not comfortable with opening it up this year (it's attached to their house).

How will your friend cross the border into NSW? I thought the border was still shut and not opening anytime soon.

The border is only closed from NSW into Qld. Queenslanders are allowed to cross into NSW.

I suspect you’re right @geoffw . Our Airbnb house is now under offer but even if the sale doesn’t proceed we wouldn’t relist it on Airbnb. Obviously WA borders are still closed anyway.

But face possibly having to quarantine when they return to Queensland.

Only if they have been to a Covid hot spot almost all of which are located within Sydney.

    That’s at the moment.
The trouble is no-one knows where the next hot spot will occur.
