Personally not that concerned about injuries . McVeigh maybe the captain , but in reality this season, if Callum Mills or Zac Jones came in to replace him , I don't see that as a negative . He's lost a yard of pace this season , Mills reads the play brilliantly and Zac Jones is almost their most aggressive player ( if they had red cards in AFL he get several a season .... ) . If the swans had all their players fit , on form I wouldn't have McVeigh in the 22 .

Rohan is a unique player , but a bit like , Jetta was , brilliant at best , but too often inconsistent ( though this season has been his best to-date and he is improving ) . Deans Towers has played most games this season and is a good alternative marking option and noi slouch in terms of speed and Cunningham is close to Rohan in terms of speed and can also fill in on half back line .

    Oh , and then there's Tippett ....:)

Good news for swans fans with both Gary Rohan and McVeigh having serious injuries excluded by scans today .

Probably hard to win a game without wining at least one quarter and the swans did win the first game against GWS in round three 93 - 68 and that was after GWS beat them quite convincingly in a preseason game , so the way the Swans have gone for the last few years , GWS wining last game makes it more likely that the swans will win the next game . A Loss to a team seems to motivate the team next time around and give the coaches time to work out what went wrong last time so they can adjust their game plan and the players seem to be able to do the job most times next time around .

only down side was alir alir going down injured , but when he was injured the game was already one so ( hopefully ) I think they were being cautious , but if he's out , it gives Ted Richards the chance for a fairy tale farewell with his younger brother .

    Am I biased ( ok , I know I am ) ?

Watched both games this week and was interested in the overall theme coming out of the commentary ..

I know ( and justifiably so ) The doggies will go in sentimental favourites for every one except swans supporters , but the commentators kept on going on about what a great game their win over GWS was .....

Personally that wasn't what I saw . OK , it was an emotionally charged roller coaster and had moments of intensity , BUT

In terms of a great game of football , I think Geelong's win over hawthorn was the best game I've seen this final series , great intensity , swings in lead AND really good football .

There were moments of intensity and good football but personally I thought the best moments of the game came from GWS esp at the start of the final quarter where Toby green had some really good moments and they looked like they were going to blow Footscray out of the water . For the most past the doggies game plan seems to resolve around long bombs and hoping their players would be able to beat their opponents in one on one battles . In reality old fashioned football .

What I didn't see was the intensity , skill and team work that the swans showed in the first quarters of their last two games when they dominated their opposition for a full quarter and took the game out of the hands of their opponents .

    Go Swans

Whoever wins today...lot of youngsters are going to get their first premiership.

This Sydney team has the experience and IMO they have to go hard and early at the Bulldogs like Hawthorn did to Sydney 2 years ago. Dogs may win the grind if its a close game as we have seen Sydney lose these types of games this year.

Anyone know why none of the ski instructors are available for private lessons this afternoon at Falls Creek?
