No ..definitely not...stay away from the Big 4....try the smaller players who are not having their proverbial in a vice.

Only a coffee date can make absolute certainty. I'm sure we'd struggle for volunteers......

If you are serious about buying more properties, talk to a couple of the established brokers on this forum. There are brokers and there are brokers.....if you know what I mean. The difference is that most brokers deal with people who buy a house, and a few that invest. Most 'investors' only ever have one IP. The brokers that are here deal with serious investors. Investors that are addicted to buying properties and have larger portfolios. These guys know how to structure a portfolio and what lender to use for each situation. While your current broker might be fine, I'd get a couple more opinions from the guys here.

I've never found broker location to matter. I've only ever met my broker twice and he's in Brisbane. Works just fine for me, but I guess some people like face to face meetings and coffee dates.

Yeah i agree mate. I never found location to be an issue either. The main thing is that they are good at their role.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever met a broker in real life to talk about loans.
Have spoken to loans people at the bank of course.

My resi broker knows me so well. She doesn't waste time telling me all the small bits and pieces or why this or that is good for me etc, she knows I don't care and just want to know what does it mean for my bottom line and how to proceed best from here. I'm always big picture focused.

The problem is that you cannot diversify to other banks if your broker works for ANZ.

Check out @Redom he'll come to you!

Great point @Nick Valsamis . I would never use a broker for any particular bank. I would choose the broker that looks at all banks and finds the best bank/deals that suites your particular situation. Makes no sense going to any broker who is only going to look at 1 bank.

We've just borrowed over another mill in the last 6-8 weeks after the big four stopped lending .

Have a chat to any of the regular brokers here . Jamie , Rolf , Peter and Marty are the ones I know best .
