    Hi All

My family and I (wife and 2 x toddlers) are contemplating a move to Adelaide rather then myself commuting from Brisbane week to week. Currently living in our PPR on the Sunshine Coast and have another IP in Brisbane. Looking at options of selling our Sunshine Coast property and reinvesting into Adelaide close to the beach and close to the city to possibly live in or rent out (rentvest).

Looking for an area close to the city and walking distance to the beach which has all of the usual drivers for a young family and to promote capital growth over the long term. The budget would be up to 850k. Since living on the coast we have found we are missing the buzz that close to the city offers and also the lifestyle around it, being near the beach is a must as well.

Any advice in potential suburbs would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Look at largs bay or seacliff. Can do pretty well with your budget there.

You'll be able to get into other beach side suburbs but probably not as close to the water as in the above.

You're best to drive around them, visit the beaches, local establishments etc to see what suits you best.

Grange is a lovely spot for sure, but with their budget not really going to get close to the beach unless they want a unit. Most of the 'cheaper' properties there are going to be up Frederick St end, away form both the beach and the train station.

I was going to suggest somewhere like Grange, but it depends what you mean by close to the beach. ie beachfront or a 5-10min walk etc.
There is a 2nd train station at East Grange further back from the beach area

The best thing about Adelaide is the proximity of literally everything. Beaches, the city, the hills and the desert are within a 30 minute drive. If you have school age children then you might want to consider which schools you want to be zoned for as that can be a factor as to which area you choose.

Need to know what sort of proximity to beach you're looking at.
Oceans views, street back, walking distance, short drive...
Then can work back from there
