Has anyone in SA used Houspect for inspections? Precise Inspections has recommended them to me since they can't fit me in.

Go to BPI - I've used them for my own places and a few in the thread recommended them too.

You don't need to tag along.

They send you a report the same day and then call you to go through it all. It's decent service.

But I want to. It also gives me a chance to have a second look and start planning.

This is probably why they're turning you down with "i can't fit you in" to be honest.

Almost no inspectors want customers to go. It gets in the way of their inspection with all the questions they want to ask continuously, and can be a liability issue for accessing areas if the customer wants to start getting under houses and in roof.

If you want to look again and start planning, book with the agent for another walk through

I haven't even mentioned to them that I'll be there but I get where you're coming from. I will be doing my own thing and will ask questions later.

If you're still looking for a conveyancer, Houtermans and Horner on NE Road. Ask for Tracey, say Nathan sent you, she might be able to do you a bit of a discount.

Conveyancing in SA rarely involves solicitors unless theres a specific issue to deal with. And generally then they pass the matter to a conveyancer once the legals are sorted.

What sort of guidance do you need?

Laugh : Friend had inspection done in Jan this year, cant remember the name to be precise but some very laughable inclusions in the report suggested a blocked external drain ( loose leaves sitting on the grate) and rusted pipework on the external gas heater (simply slight fluffy build up from a tiny leak some time ago which came off with his finger) Nail missing from ridge cap made roof subject to severe storm damage ( please ? ) Some guys have no building knowledge at all:D
