Hi there First time post. Just wanted to get some opinions on some suburbs in Adelaide. Thinking of a longer term hold strategy with a decent return and opportunity to develop. Currently like the look of : Seaton Edwardstown Clovelly Park Anyone had any experience in these areas or can offer further insight would be appreciated

The western suburbs are doing very well, you could also consider east in that sort of price bracket. What range are you looking at?

For houses its really low, but units are a bit higher. There's some info on the SQM site, otherwise look on realestate.com.au at how many listings are on in the area.
With Edwardstown it's sort of a tale of two cities. The southern part of Edwardstown (Raglan Avenue to Daws Road) has a large concentration of public housing and austerity period houses. The north side of Edwardstown is where you'll find the bungalows and character homes. If it's a buy and hold investment I'd be looking at the north side of Edwardstown since you have a >500k budget.
I am not Adelaide based but do hold IP's currently in Adelaide. Check out Port Noarlunga/Christies Beach. Big blocks with potential to subdivide. Council is actively promoting development and being beachside will hold it's value long term...
