    received_611851523383847.jpeg Hi everyone,
    I bought a house last year .everything is fine with it but just has one toilet.I have attached the layout...
    I realised that 1 toilet isnt sufficient when there is a family get together and as my family is growing..
    i am planning to partailly wall in the laundry and add a toilet..is it feasible? i dont have huge budget for it so just a low budget small toilet would be good.
    It would be really great if you could kindly share some ideas ...

    Without spending a lot of money, the laundry is the obvious choice.

    I think the laundry is the only place available. Unless you want to reduce the size of the walk in robe.

    I wouldnt wall it off in the laundry but consider a freestanding loo. Frosted glass and a door privacy latch / fan and consider a small washbasin for hands. Take care with using asmall loo as it may look cheap where a cheap standard loo isnt costly. Most costs is in the associated works. Even on slab it shouldnt pose a major job to excavate and cut the slab to access sewer and water is already near. Retile floor. For extra space consider replacing swing interior door with cavity slider.

    Other option is to close off the access to the shared bathroom and add a loo in ensuite but that may not work as a shower screen must swing out.

    Choice 1 .. macerating loo ( save $$ );
    Choice 2 .. normal loo in laundry;
    Choice 3 .. normal loo in bathroom;
    Choice 4 .. wee in shower, off veranda etc

    If you redo the laundry as suggested but replace the old laundry tub with a benchtop extending over a front loader washing machine and inset a smaller basin gives a good look without costing the earth.

    4's a winner
    5. Turn the existing toilet 90° & put on a new vanity, add another toot in the space created & incorporate into the existing bathroom.

    I would rip out the bath and replace it with a toilet, presuming the arrow thing in the bathroom is a shower.

    Eww. :D

    I would probably splash the cash and pop in a 100mm sewer connection unless it's a slab.

    Never remove a bath in a family home. It is essential especially catering for small children.

    The laundry is the obvious choice, but I would probably position it close to the external wall and reposition the sink further along with a single partition wall between the two.

    I'd be tempted to turn the current bathroom into a dedicated ensuite with Shower + vanity + toilet. Then turn the powder room section into a family bath with bath (maybe shower over) + toilet + vanity

    It's the expensive option but eventually you're probably going to want 2 bathrooms so not sure it's wise spending money changing the laundry when eventually you might go with 2 bathrooms

    My four-year-old has been showering since she was 2, and before that she was in the baby bath. Personally, I don't think a bath is essential but reasonable minds may differ.
