    Hi

I wonder if there's any economical solution to adding a 2m x 2m garden/storage room in the backyard. The room will need to be completely weather proof since we're hoping to store items like luggages, beddings, violins, old computer, etc. I was looking through the internet and found Designs - Backyard Room but their lowest end option costs around $20k! My budget is just $1500.

Can anyone suggest a way I can add a storage room, with minimal fuss?

    Thanks!

A decent garden shed is all you need. Put in a floor.

I was actually hoping to have at least one window - to let light through and lower the ambient temperature. I think most sheds don't have windows though.

Be wary of the effect summer heat will have on violins especially, I have been storing stuff in a garden shed in plastic crates for up to 4 or 5 years now and most of it has survived ok but the crates haven't. They have deteriorated and become brittle and crack when stacked on top of one another, particular the cheapest ones.
A tight sealing lid to keep bugs out is important too.
