At some stage, whether new or old to the property game, you have had to learn all the acronyms that have need coined. Rather than having to 'pick it up' or ask, would it be possible to implement the expansion of the acronyms when the mouse is hovered over them.

Some very basic examples; LVR, LMI, IP, PPR, CG etc

    All the best,
    Ray

    Like PC?

Let me see ... so we expand that to "PropertyChat", "Personal Computer", "Politically Correct", "Police Constable" ... ??? :D

While I think the idea has merit, I think the details of implementation could be problematic.

I think perhaps a good glossary section instead might be a better approach.

Either way - it's worth doing something.

The common way to fix this is put in all of the common ones in the popup. Separate by newline or commas. Make the popup timed to not appear for 2 seconds so as not to annoy people all the time when they're just moving their mouse.

    WTF is PPR?
It's a good idea if it's straight forward, sounds like Sim might have enough on his plate ;)

Hence why we need the AEoH? (Acronym Expansion on Hover :p )

(FTR: PPR is AKA PPOR = Principal Place of Residence, but more correctly now referred to as your Main Residence by the ATO).

Of course, another example of doubling up with PPR & PPoR, PM (Property Manager, Project Manager, Post Meridiem)... good luck.

Well i am new to the property game and i am struggling with all these acronyms as i read the threads. Having to keep googling what they are.

Can i suggest a 'sticky' thread or link for a glossary and common acronyms used in this forum?

How about adding the acronym expander when typing/posting.
The way usernames popup when typing @ similarly, the list of expanded acronyms show up when someone starts typing '#"

eg. If I start typing #PC (i get "PropertyChat", "Personal Computer", "Politically Correct", "Police Constable to choose from)

Something that has vexed me for years is coming up with a good four letter acronym for Four Letter Acronyms.

I believe it's uncompressed audio. Better quality than .mp3.
