Hi, I’m starting to shop around for an investment property in Tassie. Plenty of properties here have a lot of acreage. My assumption is that acreage can be a good CG strategy, but can become a turnoff as many tenants are not interested in spending their weekend mowing the lawn. As a Sydneysider I don’t want any trouble finding tenants. Anyone, can you please share stories on that topic? Also, wondering what is the best average acreage for a 4 beds house. I’m looking around Brighton at the moment.

I know a retired Sydney couples bought acreage there and moved into it. He looked after the the property lawn and garden while renting rooms as holiday house.

Have you tried talking to local PMs and REA's about renting such properties. They should be wealth of knowledge.

Thanks. Well I’ve got quite a few years before retirement but definitely like the idea :)

I plan to talk to a local REA soon, but still unsure whether TAS beats places like QLD for an investment.
