Acoustic underlay that won't break the bank?

    Hi guys,

    Just bought a unit and will be installing 15.5mm thick floating timber floorboards and I have to meet 5 star acoustic rating (sub 45) and get an 'as installed' acoustic report.

    Firstly, can anyone recommend a good acoustic consultant in Sydney who can do the testing as well as advise on what underlay to use?

    Secondly, does anyone have experience choosing underlay that meets strict requirements? Acoustica Angelstep Gold8 meets the standards but it's like $40/sqm+ so looking for something more cost effective that will do the job. I wasn't budgeting for the upgraded underlay or the acoustic report so trying to stick as close to the budget as I can!!
