    While these aren't for everyone, they cater to a market. Nice new house, eerily "pleasant" neighbourhood, low maintenance "yard" etc. And generally these masterplanned communities compensate for the lack of grass by providing nice parks.

    The developers are laughing, but so are the buyers. Everyone wins.
