We had our first at 36, and then at 40.

The nest is empty, I don't think I slowed down that much. We had time and energy to play with the kids. We're not athletic types by any stretch, but we keep physically active 12 years after the nest emptied.

We have three grandchildren (aged 5, 2 and 1) to keep us on our toes :D.

At least now when we get tired, we just go home .

    Hello again forum.
    Hope you are all well.
Many things have changed during the last couple of months since my last message here.

    1) The COVID-19 is creating disruptions and opportunities. In my view, it's likely that house prices will go down everywhere. The big question is whether Sydney will be affordable enough for us (who knows!), while I think Brisbane will definitely be affordable enough for a nice house in a nice suburb.

    2) A first child is on his/her way to join the family :) ! It's a very happy moment!
For this reason, I believe we will need to stay in Sydney at least until the end of 2020 (due to arrangements with GP, hospital, midwives, etc). Thus, moving to another city (Brisbane? Perth?) shall wait.

At this stage, I am still thinking about what's the right move to do next.
Of course, my top priority in this moment is the well-being of both my wife and our newborn.
However, I still have to keep my eyes open to understand if we should catch an opportunity, if this comes from the housing market.

    Any thoughts/suggestions  ?
    Thanks all

Welcome to the best country on earth! :)
And congratulations on the new addition to the family!
My advice is stay put in Sydney and let things settle down for 2020
Hence maybe rent-vesting is a good idea to consider for now
