    not to be skeptical......but

is it going to revolutionise the industry?
even if it is pretty good, how are they supposed to penetrate any markets unless its so damn awesome
I assume its a online system that maybe you can run your P/L or stock, wages and even rostering?
whats stopping anyone else from doing the same thing as we speak?

@TMNT it's not any of the things you've mentioned. It addresses a need, and the reason I joined the project was that I saw the potential. Nothing will stop anybody else copying it but we haven't seen anybody else addressing this particular problem just yet.

Even if we don't go with this US group it's great validation to us that we are going in the right direction.

We have a contract signed. It will take quite a while to see if anything comes of it.

We have just been accepted into a mentorship program- 48 applicants for 6-8 places, largely to do with business building at this stage.

We have put the first version of our product into a couple of stores- a very cut down version but functional. The reception has been good- but we already have good relations with those people. It will be good to put it into a store where we don't know the owner.

Great to see you've got some products out there - hopefully you'll get honest feedback as to functionality and performance (and styling) ... we still don't know what it is tho :D

We've been accepted into a mentorship program, where people with experience in startups help those startups in whatever area they need the most help- business, technical, sales, whatever. Something which will help us a lot.

Six startups were accepted from 46 applications.

It also puts us in a good position to get grants; and also to get into an accelerator program later on, which itself comes with a good grant.

Great news Geoff. How does the Mentorship work. Do you have to go to visit or is it done online?

It's one on one, face to face. There's three people who meet and give mentorship, each with a different expertise- it depends on what sort of advice is required. It takes place at the co-working space where we work.

The main person who will be in contact with us had a travel website which was sold a few years ago for $210M (split between 8 or 10 people). My wife worked for them for some years.

Fantastic news re the mentorship. How did you find out about it and apply? Any clues into who the mentors are? I friend did a week long mentorship with Richard Branson on Necker ... that would have been mind-blowingly awesome

We found out about this because we work in a co-working space. That's office space which is provided very cheaply to startups. There's a lot of hot desking- we work in there three days a week. So we are in contact with a lot of other startups. There are regular events where we get to know people from a lot of other startups- it's really interesting stuff. The people providing the cheap office space also provide the mentorship as well as other things go to help startups.

There's three mentors involved, Richard Branson unfortunately is not one of them. I've mentioned one in a previous post; all are people who have started companies which have done very well.

Please don't release a version targeted towards law firms :p I hate being micro-managed enough let alone it being done by an app.

If lawyers do the same repetitive list of tasks every day, then I don't see why it wouldn't be useful.
