    if you buy and hold you are at the mercy of the market but if you incorporate other instruments
    then you go with the market condition and make money in all market conditions

    Options, Warrants, Shorting

    You can write options over your holding for extra income and covered for downside

    Shorting, you can almost guarantee to make money in a bearish market by shorting or industry facing headwind like banks currently.

    ASX Trade Corporate bond or Notes

    Trade parcel and take advantage of range bound and volatility

    you just have to find your niche, nothing is without risk they all have some elements of risk so you have to your principles and frameworks then use instruments that fit that framework and you enjoy the journey and never feel stressed regardless of market condition

    There are no right or wrong answer and each asset has their own pros/cons is not necessarily better than the other with properties or shares, I usually tell people go with stuff that you feel safe and comfortable and know what you are doing
