But most didn't, such as myself and others I know, still here.. like moving to anywhere, some will change their mind and go back, but the majority do stay.

It all depends on the individual and their attitude. Sure, I've had periods where work has been hard to come by, and not everything has been easy, but I have persevered because I've wanted to stay here for the nature and more laid back lifestyle...and things always work out because I can adapt.

Career and dollars are not my primary motivator, even though I seem to do ok at that.

If people's primary motivator is career and dollars above everything else then Melbourne and Sydney is perfect for them and they can stay there..:) in fact that actually the big difference in what makes Queensland what it is..

It's grown there albeit a little further North. Darn good stuff too.

So them there southerners are likely drinking it but not realising it.

It’s not always about the beans. I live in Sumatra now with local beans arguably the best in the world. You will see their beans priced the highest in Starbucks stores.

But sadly, local coffees are meh...

That’s why you have been so successful!!
If it were not for coffee I’m pretty sure I would be a retired multi millionaire by now....probably miserable without my morning coffee though :D

2 bananas, peanut butter and a generous dash of vodka. Blend it with some ice.

    I'm set for the day.

In the words of Dilmah " Do try it" :D

When you get to Queensland you have to set your watch back 1 hour and 25 years. Actually, Brisie/Gold Coast used to be like that but is now becoming just like all other big cities due to over population and lack of infrastructure.

Brisbane have changed plenty since 2014 to 2021. During these 7 years, these are the things I have noticed.
When I arrived from Sydney. It felt like a country town compare to Sydney.
It doesn’t feel like that anymore. It feels like any other bigger cities like Sydney.
    Traffic is horrible
    People is less patience
    Parking is horrible
    Restaurant variety is plentiful
    Beach is pack
    Pubs is pack

Brisbane's beach is at South Bank! The mud flats of Wynnum don't count.

Gold Coast has changed heaps since 10 years ago, it is vibrant, large and great! I would do everything there in preference to Brissy, but unfortunately too many historical ties to the CBD (sigh).

    Gold Coast hinterland is fantastic!

100% agree. It wasn't until I had to give the bank my statements so they could look at my spending that I realised I had a problem.... hubby bought me a machine for Christmas and It's saved me about $50 a week so far.
