Just checked a recent electricity bill from Origin for common areas of a townhouse complex and there was a $500 Goodwill credit applied.
The quarterly bill is usually only just over $100.
Is this a normal thing that everybody is getting?
Was not expecting to receive anything like this.

Here in Queensland Residential will get $300 (although I'd debate the breakdown).
My understanding is Businesses will get $500.
Well done. Not sure if you can get a cheque.... if yes, go spend the money! :D

Our townhouses are in QLD too.
Would prefer to keep it as a credit.

OIC. Interested to know how you get hold of the Origin Bill? Strata Managers never passed that on unless we request...

There are 6 townhouses in the complex, they are strata titled but we own all of them.
They are like terraces side by side so not really any common areas so we don't need a strata company to do anything.

I got an even better windfall yesterday. Synergy (WA electricity provider) gave me a $2500 Small Biz and Charity Credit for the account I have in biz name for my common areas. It will probably take me 2 years to chew through that credit!

The small print on ours says not tranferrable, can't be paid out, if you close the account the credit goes away.

I'm trying to work out if I have any other accounts on commercial tarriff that I might get it on. I live in hope :)
