It didn't work for me. I got Accidental investor - buy a home then invest to hold not sell. Which is funny because I have sold half the IPs I ever bought... after renovating them! :)

You are the king (or queen) of cool and have a set-and-forget property portfolio to match your executive-level job. You're all about tax minimisation, outsourcing and "the numbers".

Ha. This description is so not me. I must have learned a few things on PC.

Come on Moreton Bay, only 5% growth last year - you're killing me. At least that beats the 2.2% Brisbane annual growth numbers in the previous week's property stats.

Here's another quiz I found on the internet...
What type of property investor are you?
I couldn't answer 5, 6 or 12 because none of the answers suited. Some of the others the answers didn't suit either but I picked the best answer for me. But this is what I got. And I'm sure most of you lot might end up with savvy too!

agree 100% in theory - however the good and great locations have much higher entry costs and holding costs as opposed to the lower growth higher yielding areas - it comes to an individual's lifestyle, goals and risk parameters amongst other things

the latest boom in Syd and Melb has given rise to many first time investors who "got lucky" and personally I am curious to see the investor landscape when interest rates rise - I think at current record low interest rates, and especially with majority of investors on IO there may be investors who have "swum naked" when they do rise

Glad you guys enjoyed it! Was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but hopefully not so much as to offend anyone ;).

Most of my friends (thankfully not investing but did the quiz anyway) got mining town investor... yikes!

I didn't bother doing this quiz I guess because I reject the very premise of the 5 boxes that the quiz aims to put people in.

While I don't doubt investors in each of these examples/descriptions exist in the real world, there are other personas that are non-conforming to all of these (as well as perhaps ones that blend 2 or more of them as well).

Still, kudos to Jennifer for at least unpacking some that may exist.

    I think you'll find it's largely satire ;)

We did this and I've always thought we may have made a mistake. Good to read that someone is advocating it, first time I have seen a post like this on PC.

Since I have DIY renovated 5 IPs in a row, I am gutted I didn't score: The Block-inspired DIYer.

I found out which question I got wrong: The best house, the worst street

Should be Worst house, best street! :)

Unfortunately, it doesn’t always pay off. At best, even the most hardworking DIYers will be learning as they go, leaving themselves vulnerable to making expensive mistakes.

Where you’ll find them: Swearing in the aisles at Bunnings or in Tribunal again.

What they buy: The “worst” home on what they think is the best street.
Pretty much nails it @Jennifer Duke! :D

No, I thought you really meant to put that statement, Jennifer. It would complement the satire effect of people making classic mistakes.
