Or if you really want to hold this vehicle put a holding deposit on pending inspection and get them to give you a receipt with that written in, inspection goes bad they refund you, inspection goes good, you buy the car :).

common repair. check both front seals when it goes in.
doesnt hurt to write a reciept to hold it. I'd do it without a deposit if you sound legit... but im a nice guy ;)

Just buy a small receipt book, and write out the deposit for the car, plus the inspection part -they sign and you sign with the date..That way you have the receipt in the book ..good luck

Thanks for the advice! I I took the below for a test drive and really liked it:

    https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Patrol-2008/SSE-AD-5609719/?Cr=0

This car will be about $3-4k cheaper than the landcruiser. The patrol also only had 122k on the clock and was a 2008. The patrol also had a few other bits and bobs the cruiser didnt.

I think if i got this car for $18,500 it would be a good buy. The seller lives in scotland, so his father is going to put the offer past his son. If he accepts, ill pay $250 deposit and arrange an inspection next week. Obviously if anything seriously wrong or costly repairs, ill negotiate further. I should have an answer today.

2019 Suzuki Jimny: Australian launch now official - UPDATE | CarAdvice

20% more power and a pretty nice interior.

Somebody on here needs to buy one, please. My 2011 is still going strong and our next car needs to be family friendly.

Apparently we always pay the same as the Japanese market pricing, which puts it at $25k.

Thanks mate, good point. Car dealer in Cairns (im in Brisbane) seemed happy to get the car to me at no charge!

At this staging, hoping to get the 2008 Nissan Patrol ST GU 6 Manual 4x4 MY08 (119,683 km, 4cyl 3.0L Turbo Diesel).

It drove very nicely, much better than the 1st patrol i drove, which was auto.

lol! Someone has to represent the Paj!

Personally, not a fan of cruisers or patrols (as I'm not a redneck or bogan :D ) but to each their own.

Older model with the older engine tech (non commonrail) engine, but otherwise mechanically identical to the later model Patrols. No noticeable difference in fuel economy or performance, but this engine pre-common rail ZD30 engine is known as the "hand grenade" because they sometimes blow without warning. Cracked pistons leading to a complete rebuild is usually how it plays out. That being said, many are still driving around with 300K+ mileage.
