457 Visa changes, any side effect?

The question is what will visa restrictions do, not just because its the topic of the thread but because it is something happening now.

Advances in technology and productivity are nothing new, and don't happen overnight. Can you imagine what the Horse and Cart Association would have thought when the steam train hit the rails? A load that would take 100 men to steer could now be solved by a single train operator and a coal shoveller! And then even worse, the petrol automobile! all the people in horse shoe and hay bale supply out of work, never to be employed again. Never again will an economy reach full employment when one man can do the work of a hundred.

Having a robot do something is not a means to an end. People will want more productive robots. they'll want self driving cars with smoother rides and more AI features. in fact they'll want a car simply because its new and looks different to one that was released 3 years ago. They'll want goods delivered by vehicles that don't even exist yet. They'll want to travel to London in 3 hours so that they can go for a joy ride in space. who even knows what people will be doing in 50 years.

What's going to come of excess city car parks? they could be converted to apartments, battery energy storage locations, small business centres, use your imagination.
