Current decision ( may change again :))
Going ahead with PPOR first .
I will wait for some more time and increase by deposit amount
Buy independent house with land size of around 500m2.
Shortlisted suburbs around Quakers hill and Doonside.

There are pockets around doonside which should be avoided.

Quaker Hill is my fav suburb for investment.

Hope you do your dd. Why 500 sq mt? Have you figured out how much and how frequently you have to mowe the lawn. :D:p

    Regards

    Thanks Ashish,

Once I seriously start visiting the property inspections i will share the details and check with the property experts here.

Well there is positive and negatives to everything you choose in life .If you say we need to buy apartments or property with no lawn to avoid mowe, its like why we have to marry a girl as she will bring in so much head ache along with her :D

why 500m2 - > no specific reason as such . My wife likes to have a big backyard where we can have our own open space. More the land more value in the portfolio .

More initial costs as well. More land threshold. More land costs.

Not a good thing to consider in a market that has just boomed. The idea of big backyard seems very good. However, have you lived in such a house before with a big backyard?

I stayed in a 700 sq mt property and finally concluded that 3 to 5 mt backyard is sufficient for working professionals. But again, it is more of a personal choice. Try staying in such a property so that you do realize the benefits/negatives before buying.

    Regards

Agree , I do not have experience living in a big house . Also, understand it will take considerable time in maintenance as well. I dont know if I will like it or not :)

However, was just wondering why there are so many properties with big backyard and how are they managing it?
