No. 2 - Expertise and excellence - Literally the complete opposite to what Robert Kiyosaki teaches in Rich Dad Poor Dad. Know a little about a lot, not a lot about a little.

That’s a lot of qualities needed.

But I was reading about Tojo Hideki the other day (Japanese PM during WWII). And without getting into the politics of the fact he’s class A war criminal in history, he rose to the top of his country for what it’s worth.

And one interesting thing was... he wasn’t particularly smart or good at anything apparently. But he worked harder than anyone else. I thought that was quite interesting.

I believe the adage "correlation does not equal causation" applies here.

Yes, empirical observation might have come up with that list of qualities extraordinary people have that ordinary people may not necessarily have (the definitions of which is also an issue of contention), but it also does not necessarily mean by adopting the qualities and attributes of these extraordinary people, one comes like them.

I am surprised not to find early riser/early sleeper within that list. The typical BS about the early bird gets the worm, etc. usually gets repeated in these lists.

My motto in life, ‘work smarter, not harder’.
Efficiency is key here, and you need a brain.

If you ever fall, roll around and get back up. Unless you are really injured, of course. :)

I'd rather do this instead: This was my last comp before the hip replacement, so struggling a bit here: Andrew Simms & Debbie Simms 2008 - YouTube

One of the most difficult qualities is LUCK. I know a few very wealthy and successful people who have been very lucky. The harder they work adn more commitment to investing the luckier they got

Kudos!I wonder, did you ever try dancing on ice? Cause I think it would translate across really well

In many ways it's the same sport, just performed on a different surface, although there are some differences. I actually hate Ice Skating. Way too cold for me.

@skater did you two meet through skating? And was your hip replacement a result of skating, or just part of life (many people have hip and knee replacements I guess)?

You certainly can both skate well. I used to be a dancer and a gymnast and when I think of the falls I had back in the 70s when going to a physio was not so mainstream, I am thankful I didn't break my neck. I don't ever recall seeing a physio, but I'm sure I probably should have.

Yes, I was teaching learn to skate & he brought some of the nieces & nephews in for lessons. He was very quick to tell me they weren't his kids.

I'm sure it was, it was riddled with stress fractures. In my youth I did Pairs Skating, which involved overhead lifts at high speed, throw jumps (me being thrown), and jumps & spins. It makes what you saw there look very tame. Some of the falls were quite spectacular.

We did Dance (Ballroom on wheels) and Freedance. What you saw there was Freedance. You are only allowed a few small lifts, nothing over shoulder height, and it must be composed to a specific rhythm. Steps need to be dance type steps. We had to tone that routine down, as certain things caused me too much pain.

I was a gymnast too, and the only time I've every been to a physio (that I thought did any good) was after my hip replacement.

I can imagine you guys would have been great when younger! Quality of performance was top notch.
As a kid, I did gymnastics too. Not a dancer though.
So I'm not so graceful when doing aerial tissue.
There is unicycle freestyle, which is like what you see Skater does, but on unicycles. I don't have that ability, but it's very impressive. This is an example

Anyway, well done. Pity things get injured over time. :(
I've got a lingering finger injury from volleyball, it's now getting constantly inflamed from doing aerial tissue. What to do...

What you showed would be more similar to precision. Here's an example:
Roller Figure Skating Worlds 2014 - Precision - YouTube
@Lil Skater, myself & other daughter were in a team similar (couldn't find it) and competed at World Championships. These guys have a bigger team, which is more difficult, but items performed are similar.
