Peter Thornhill is open to running a day for second level listeners. I.e. People who have the equivalent knowledge of having read his book or have been to his education day already.

@Mac Fields suggested "I'm sure we could make a week's worth of questions from the PC forums. There are some great questions enquiring/challenging probably long-held ideas that would be good to flesh out and discuss. I would expect this as a more interactive seminar to discuss concepts etc"

This is what I'm thinking too, so with that thought in mind, I've streamed this thread.

What burning questions do you have for Peter Thornhill?

Note: If you haven't read his book or attended his presentation or gone through the content on his website, please kindly direct your questions to the regular Peter Thornhill thread!

Quick comment... have you looked? I hate to say it but there's hardly anybody on there! This is a much more active site to be honest.

Best question I can think of is:
"What's his wife's secret to her youthful look?"

Freida's 70 but looks about 45 years old at most:eek:.

The questions that hold my interest would be more directed towards the mental side of investing,
in particular during corrections and major negative events such as the GFC.

We probably know the theory but how will we actually react in real time.

This I believe is the key to all investing.

I'd be interested in the application of his ideas in conjunction with super - ie. doing it outside super and inside super, and how/when to marry the two.

Have PT expand on his phobia of ETF's particularly as relates to the long standing market cap weighted index trackers - i.e. STW on the ASX.

Also, has PT changed his mind on anything in the last decade? (tongue in cheek of course.. :))

Particularly in the accumulation stages, but also if you decide to start the income phase with not too much of a buffer (and therefore a dip, particularly a larger one, can really dent the income and therefore the confidence).

Not sure but we could (would?) be looking towards this being a 'conversation' around investing strategies and therefore, similar to PC, we are sharing information, rather than seeking advice per se. I agree there would need to be a disclaimer at the start of the day if he didn't have the relevant licences to provide advice in the said topics.

If he is not licenced to advise on super I would think it would be pretty dangerous to start discussing super, even in a generic way. He might be limited to shares and equities.

I'm thinking that not having to worry about money probably means being able to sleep better at night. Better sleep = a less stressed and less hagged looking complexion (because I know the opposite of this certainly holds true when less sleep is had).

I would ask Thornhill if the premium being paid for yield, in a low interest rate environment, is taking away the return premium historically enjoyed by dividend investors with re-investment.

I would be interested in hearing hat he had to say to people who did not have 30+ years to retirement to allow the wonders of compounding to do their work. Many people will come to the realisation about how to invest later than others.
