    It's never too early to start planning your resolutions for the new year - there's only 2 weeks to think about it before you make some rash promise to do xyz after imbibing a little bit too much.

    Put your thinking caps on and start listing them here.

    I'm steadfastly resolved to posting as many serious posts as diversionary/fun posts.

    Finish off a degree, traing some more, purchase an IP, renovate some IPs (hate renovating but have to do it) and build a bigger buffer.

    Professionally would like to learn as much as I can from other experienced collegues and grow as a professional, unlike some of the other people with their limitating belief system, so hence why they are a one trick pony.

    In my personal life, try to enrich my partner's life with my mere presence and be a good son to my parents.

    I have noticed a couple of more serious posts from you lately. Thought you had banged your head or something, but I see you're just in training for your New Years resolution. :p

    1. Renovate the two PPOR bathrooms;
    2. Buy another IP;
    3. Start running again after my knee injuries; and
    4. Keep educating myself on taxation and structuring.

    My 2017 resolution is to not make any resolutions and just get on with the bloody job.

    But seriously, here's why they are pretty much a waste of time just saying your going to do such and such, though does make you feel better for a few weeks.

    According to Brain Scientist Damasio: "Making resolutions work involves changing behaviours—and in order to change a behaviour, you have to change your thinking (or "rewire" your brain). Brain scientists such as Antonio Damasio, Joseph LeDoux, and psychotherapist Stephen Hayes have discovered, through the use of MRIs, that habitual behaviour is created by thinking patterns that create neural pathways and memories, which become the default basis for your behaviour when you're faced with a choice or decision. Trying to change that default thinking by "not trying to do it," in effect just strengthens it. Change requires creating new neural pathways from new thinking."

    Its pretty much the same process you need to go through to change from the 'poor' mindset to the 'wealthy' mindset in order to make your actions change and lead you down a new path. My two cents.

    Continue to improve fitness and health (down almost 20kg from when I moved to Adelaide)
    Fix my hip bursa issue so I can get back in the pool
    Get back in the saddle after a 20 year absence
    Finish some new builds which have been de-prioritised
    Find some nice scotch to drink

    I'll follow your lead @geoffw and not comment - only to say it's about time for @DaveM to take the reins.
