    Hi everyone,

I met up with the incredibly attractive and intelligent Perth Squad over the weekend and said I would share my project and introduce myself.

This renovation has taken my dad and I the past 2.5 years and we are 2-3 weeks from completion!!:D:D

We plan to sell the house and look for the next project.

It has been a great journey for the pair of us. However, we have had to resist strangling each other on the odd occasion.

My dad is a chef and has undertaken renovations before and I am a carpenter soon to be builder:)!!

The house was originally built in the 1920's with small additions added over time. The house was derelict for 10 years before we bought and began to renovate.

We did pretty much all of the construction/fit-out ourselves and let the licensed trades do their part.

    Hope you enjoy!

Wow, that is a truly epic reno.
I love the exterior colour scheme. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hardly a 'renovation' looks more like a complete rebuild.

What's the plan with it? Will you keep it, sell it? Move in maybe?

    Great job!

    Hey Colin,
    It in Briggs Street, Bassendean.

    Lovely Spot!

    Hi Blacky,

Yeh I suppose renovation is a bit modest!

We are just going to sell it and let someone else enjoy it.

I didn't get to say hi on Saturday @Eusoc so "hi!"

Love the project - it's beautiful. It's a long time from buying to selling - has the market downturn impacted the profit much?

    That street tree is amazing!!

Love the colours and the flow of the new plans.

Can you share any numbers on how much it's cost you to get this far with such a major reno?

Kudos to you (and your Dad)

    Hey everyone,

Thanks for your positive feedback. :)

@hobo I will add some more pics over the weekend for you.

Hi @Westminster, nice to meet you!

The tree is incredible and enormous, one of many heritage listed oak tree's in Bassendean.

House cost $420k/Reno cost us about 220k'ishy and about 3 years off my life expectancy.

I have enjoyed building the place and achieving something so cool with my dad. Probably not the most efficient way to make profit though.

Had it valued recently at late 8's to very early 9's. Bassendean has had a lot of developments close to the town centre which has really helped sustain housing value in the area. It is located in a very nice part of Bassendean as well.

    Site plan/Original house.

Wow you've done a beautiful job. Hats off to you and your dad. Glad you're both still talking. I suppose your dad would've come in handy for a decent meal or two anyway. You clearly work well together.
I wouldn't want to sell it though.
    Good luck.

There's more to life than money ;)

I am doing an 'inefficient' reno in Cloverdale now. It is a waste of time from a profit point of view but what we are learning along the way is invaluable IMO.

Nicely done. I wouldn't have pegged Bassendean with values at 900's for a single dwelling so very well done.
