heres one for those growing up in the 60/70's, what was that horrible creamy mixture my mother would give to me for a case of the trots or upset stomach?
I can sort of remember the name but cant find it anywhere on Google.

    Kao Magna or something.....?

Dunno - but my mum used to feed us her own concoction called "pep up" if we were being cranky little s^^ts ... ghastly stuff that refused to dilute if you added more milk (just ended up with twice as much to drink).

No idea what was in it but could sure taste the yeast

    Almost everything.
Too much Bex or Vincents wasn't good for kids, so it was often substituted with a teaspoon of Grappa.

We used to have this fizzy lemon drink which I think was called Saline which was meant for an upset stomach. It’s job was to make you burp and release the pressure.

Loved that stuff! Awesome with a squeeze of lemon.
I think they were bought out and discontinued.

I thought it was only my dad that came up with this remedy. I’m amazed that people know about it.

Anyone familiar with that sticky, smelly black ointment made of coal tar or something? It's great for drawing out impurities when you have boils or other skin infections. So gross yet so good.

I used to love it too.

But it has a big dose of sodium bicarbonate - nowadays I'm trying to watch my sodium intake.
