I upgraded from a nespresso pod machine to a Breville one that has a bean hopper (freshly ground) one this year. Chalk and cheese on taste however not drastically cheaper. I calculated the break even point of the purchase to be 2.5 years away based on existing consumption (wife and I).
Thinking of offering the 2yr old an occasional coffee to speed things up..

As long as it doesn’t hit the cost of Decaf I’m right. Bit of a coffee philistine given I know longer drink the real thing. I think Ona started in Canberra?

    Yes.

Sasa Sestic (http://sasasestic.com.au/) migrated to Australia to compete in the 2000 Olympics, specifically Canberra for the Australian Institute of Sport. He won the world barista championship in 2015.

He spoke at an event I went to last year, and was superb. At his first attempt in the Australian barista championships he came last.

He saw originally that there were small things he could do to improve coffee and that became a passion.

A fella from the the Druitt reckons he bought a decaffeinated coffee table. You couldn't tell the difference.

Arguably there would be just as much debate around it.

Reminds me of a passionate mobile coffee cart in Hobart. Average sales per day? 2. Plenty of converted coffee caravan type set ups for sale online at the moment. Likely will be converted back into caravans.

I used to visit a small coffee shop. Great coffee at a reasonable price. No skim milk, soy or fancy stuff. Don't even think sugar was on offer. Bit of a coffee nazi really, maybe a remake of the Seinfeld episode right there!

Was out in Fyshwick this morning so I dropped in for a coffee at the Coffee House which is next to Ona roastery.

I enjoyed it but I am not an aficionado on coffee or anything else for that matter.

I did try a Luwak Latte (worlds most expensive beans) last year. . . . . quite nice, but not worth the money.

It's called a Tim Tam slam and it is a thing. I prefer it with hot Masters choc milk myself. :p

Sometimes I need a straw to clear the charger connection to my phone, when it gets stuff in it. The last time, I didn't have a straw, so I tried the soggy Tim Tam approach.

    It didn't work too well.

nothing more I cant stand with people who are coffee snobs, especially those that carry on like theyve just been poisioned because they had a coffee bean that wasnt up to their standard!

that being said, our coffee machine at work (a proper one) I had one the other day and it tasted bad, so when the ownercame in , I asked, why it tasted a bit funny and he said, oh we ran out, and he ducked out to woolies to get a bag until the next delivery, and he showed me the bag,
and it was some organic one with a very hippy packaging,

maybe im used to the work one, or maybe I cant tell the diffrence between a good and bad one

I have also tried grocery store coffee beans on rare (and desperate) occasion; they are invariably disgusting compared to fresh-roasted beans. Iced coffee is the only Coles/Woollies caffeine fix I consider tolerable.

I tried to tread the coffee snob path several years ago, was even roasting my own beans for a while. Too much hassle and inconsistency so I settled on 1kg deliveries of Withams Super Mocha every ~4 months, splitting it up into about 6 portions which are vacuum-bagged and then frozen until needed.
