Wow that's amazing! I just drove passed it today actually, otherwise I would have had no idea about it.
I slipped an offer under the door, we'll see how it goes ;)

@LifesGood - have a drive down Wolseley Rd. Refurbs don't come cheap.

    thats a goregous finish,

I was looking at the photos thinking, no way $11m, I could do that for $500k......until I saw the elevator and the marble flooring..

does that include the contents of the wine cellar too?

btw. more importantly , what would the property be worth now!?!?!?

11m is seriously overkill. if it wasn't heritage listed it could have be a new build costing less than 1m. The floors seem to have a laminate timber look feel as opposed to real timber and the marble isn't exactly the highest grade marble. The real work is the architravtes and skirting plastering finishes which i think is quite complex. But 11m you could build apartment towers.

Haha. There are so many absurdities in your comment I don't even know where to start! The 11mill is easily justified and whilst it might be "overkill", the land was originally valued at 15mill so it's probably warranted.

didn't check or the article on amount but really 11 mil is still overkill for a refurb. each to their own the floors look like laminate.

You should probably look into the topic a bit more then, but only if you're interested!

It is a huge amount of money  I doubt the reason is for profit though, otherwise yes 11m apartment. Since the family can afford it I guess they just do it.

Moot point. It IS heritage listed, hence inflated cost.

i have friends who build hospitals in SE Asia (like high end ones) housing 100s of patients and 300 medical staff and it doesn't cost 11m or even close to it. just reminds me of tap fixture i was looking it from italy being sold here that cost $1800 when really it cost $250 at most.

Wow! You know you've made it when you have an underground car park for 10 at your holiday house that has marble floors!
