So we just passed 10,000 posts and 1,500 members on PropertyChat in the first 13 days since we launched.

I am quite staggered and humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response I've received to launching the new site and by the enthusiasm of our members to continue building this awesome community of property investors.

Thank you everyone for your contribution to getting this site off to an amazing start!

I doubt it. I'm sure there's some celebrity forum somewhere that had a faster growth rate by several orders of magnitude!

Is there enough premium and business customers to cover startup costs yet?

I am still getting used to it but I think the new forum is great! I don't seem to be able to keep up with new posts as easily as SS but that may be because there have been more than 10,000 posts in less than 2 weeks!!!!

Wow! Amazing work. I'm happy that Property Chat is off to a bumper start.

Would love to see some stats on activity - perhaps by keywords in the forum. The good old SS leading indicator on steroids :)

I have to say I really like the new format here. Very scalable to mobile phone which is great. Plus the fact all the SSers moved to PC and provide quality information, and you have a winner!

    Awesome start Sim!

I think the active start is due to everyone being so engaged in the SS site, and then coming across here has brought a lot of the readers / lurkers out of the woodwork.

Are lurkers the termites of the forum world?

And those numbers are without the likes of SOD and fullylucky...well done, not bad indeed.
Growth rates will be double if they are on board.

    Great job, Sim, well done.
Can I say that I was a little pessimistic that it would be 'the end' but not you have you bought the band with you, you've also improved the viewing platform!

    Well done!

I wonder what % of somersoft people have migrated?
Would have to be over 50% you would think?

There have been 1,789 members of Somersoft who have logged in to that site in the past 30 days.

So far, we have 1,032 members on PChat who have confirmed Somersoft accounts (plus quite a few others who were Somersoft members but have registered using a new username on PChat).

I sent nearly 27,000 emails to Somersoft members yesterday, letting them know about the upcoming archival of the site and giving them a chance to save Private Messages and such before logins are turned off.

So far, just over 4,600 of those emails have bounced back as undeliverable (email address no longer valid), but that still leaves over 21,000 emails which hopefully got through (or are sitting in peoples spam folders :( ).

I am actually very surprised that the bounce rate hasn't been higher given that many of these users joined over 10 years ago and quite a few haven't been active in a long time. That being said - sometimes it can take a couple of days for all the bounced emails to be processed, so I do expect the bounce rate to increase.

While I didn't actually mention PropertyChat in that email, it is mentioned in the threads on Somersoft that I linked to.
