    Take that springdrive!
Took me a while to make that little gif . Good fun though :)

Forgot to mention one of the coolest thing about this movement is that when you bring the watch to your ear you can hear a “hum” from the tuning fork. There is nothing like it and it’s damn cool.

After years of having different kind of watches (not expensive ones) I decided not to have a watch anymore and just rely on my mobile phone.

I decided to simplify my life and spendings and focus in property which is something I hope to achieve.

Not trying to look smart, just wanted to give my opinion. I can say I have enjoyed this forum heaps.

I think a mobile phone does the job admirable in many cases as a functional timepiece - after all it has pretty much all the functions such as alarm, timer world time etc etc.

For my job however, pulling out a mobile phone is not very practical (lecturing, presenting) and I much prefer a watch,

Further, when I travel, I can be in places for extended periods where there is no power point available to charge my phone - and if there is, it gets used charging my camera battery :p

    I'm seeing around $700aud, 1/10, 1/100 and 1/1000 timing on the chronograph.

Found this, not the exact one i'm after though.

Recently bought a Tudor Black Bay GMT. I'm planning to purchase another Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight and Rolex Submariner to add to the collection but not planning to wear any of them.

My dad collected Seiko watches that he wore and good fake Rolex watches unworn or barely worn. Is there a market for these? If so best place to advertise?

Why dont you want to wear them? Its just a watch. Unless your trying to flip them for some profit there is no point keeping these in the safe. If you are trying to flip you need to buy other hyped models. The Tudor GMT and BB58 are not going to increase in value enough for you not to enjoy them.

IWC make the best pilot watches period and they are quite affordable. If you can save a little more for an IWC maybe the newer 3818 or older 3777 models, even a Big Pilot 43 or Mark XVIII they are awesome watches.

What is the Rolex situation these days? I suppose still a massive 5-year wait list?!

Gotten worse and worse and worse. Even full gold pieces are now like double MSRP. Rose Gold and Platinum are through the roof.

Take a Yellow Gold DD40 Presidential for example. Back in 2018 these were $27k USD ($38k AUD). Now they are close to $48k USD ($66-67k AUD). Geesus christ!!!

Dont get me started on Platinum Daytona now ($150K USD). I was suppose to buy one for $70k AUD several years ago.

Rolex prices have risen faster than house prices these days.
