Is there a list of holiday places that got affected by the bush fire and need tourist or visitors to come back and spend the money there?

I don't mind do a weekend trip here and there and spend some money there

Although these areas may not have all suffered damage, they were evacuated and lost peak tourist visitation.

I'll start with a few places:

    Victoria
Bright and surrounds (Mt Buffalo, Wangaratta, Wandiligong, Mt Beauty, Mt Hotham, Falls Creek, Omeo, Anglers Rest, Rutherglen, Milawa)

    NSW
    Mt Selwyn, Perisher, Thredbo, Jindabyne
Mt Wilson, Bell, Kurrajong, Blue Mountains

The entire far south coast of N.S.W that draws much of its peak season numbers from Victoria.
and the South Coast that also draw heavily from Canberra and Sydney.
Once all the roads were closed it was game over for the 2020 peak season which runs from Boxing day to when the school holidays finish.
For the Snowy Mountains area the main peak season is July and August when the serious money is made, but they did lose out between the Christmas/New Years break with all the tourists being asked to leave. For the coast its summer school holidays.with over 5 weeks of solid weekly bookings, just as the fires hit, hence why all the money is being thrown at them with interest free loans etc,as many businesses down there will have try and get through the next 11 months without going under. .
Families generally dont drive 5 or 6 hours for weekend trips, or even long weekends, unless they are heading to the snow.

Just make sure you have accommodation booked.
Displaced owners and out-of-town repair workers often soak up most available tourist accommodation.
